WWL-TV in New Orleans is looking for a video Content Manager to join our talented team of multiplatform journalists. We’re looking for someone who believes in the power of local journalism and wants to help create unique digital content that is unparalleled in our market. A successful video Content Manager is a leader in the newsroom with an audience-first approach on digital, social media and streaming platforms. You’ll help bridge the gap between WWL-TV’s linear and digital platforms. And you’ll focus on enhancing the station’s OTT platform, by creating original
enterprise content. Qualified candidates should have strong writing and copy-editing skills, video and social media experience and strong news judgment.
Responsibilities:
• Create unique content for WWL OTT and digital platforms
• Pair with reporters to create specialty content from daily stories for digital
• Book interviews and edit them into segments for newscasts and digital platforms
• Create unique content using WWL archives
• Repurpose morning show content (interviews, special segments) for digital platforms
• Create and execute a plan to digitize all WWL archives
• Oversee Mardi Gras Coverage
• Assist with morning show live remotes, as needed
• Book morning show guests, as needed
• Other tasks assigned by News Director, Assistant News Director, and Digital Director, as needed.
• Applicants must have major breaking news experience, strong editorial judgement, newscast
producing expertise and fully understand the needs of our audience across all platforms
• Strong understanding of the tenets of professional journalism
• Strong organizational, motivational and communication skills
• 5+ years experience producing or managing in a television news station
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications preferred
