WGNO in New Orleans is looking for a producer and multi-media journalist ready to take their skills to the next level.
Position requires both producing a broadcast show several days a week and on-camera reporting, including shooting and editing.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Produce accurate, complete, and compelling news copy on deadline for all platforms.
Ensure that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality.
Write and deliver news stories in a clear and concise manner.
Assist in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating programming and other content.
Respond to breaking and other urgent newsroom situations as required.
Oversee writing, production, and timing of broadcast or on-line publication.
Manage show development, contribute to the editorial process, and make solid decisions in breaking news situations.
Write, produce, and edit material that appeals to target audiences.
Research production topics using the internet, video archives, and other information sources.
Contribute regularly to digital platforms.
Develop ideas for news, feature, and enterprise pieces, as well as investigative stories.
Present compelling, clear, creative, and accurate live shots.
Interact with viewers and users on social media sites.
Shoot and edit video.
Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or related field.
Prefer two years of experience as a producer or on-air news reporter, however strong collegiate and internship experience will be considered.
Requirements & Skills:
Solid vocal delivery, camera presence, and clear enunciation.
Strong reporting and writing skills.
Excellent reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and organizational skills.
Promote teamwork and maintain attitude of cooperation with all station personnel.
Adept at ad-lib presentations, without aid of scripts and/or teleprompters.
Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Flexibility to work any shift.
Operate newsroom computer systems, editing and camera equipment.
Provide resume and digital reel when applying.
Work Environment/Mental & Physical Requirements:
High stress environment with deadline pressures.
Travel will be required on a regular basis.
Position requires the transport of equipment weighing up to 60 lbs.
Position often requires work in extreme outdoor temperatures.
A valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record are required.
